ESPR & Digital Product Passports

Digital Product Passports under ESPR: issue, serve, and control compliant DPPs - from battery passports in 2027 to textiles and electronics.

Every product is getting a passport

The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) (Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, in force since July 2024) introduces the Digital Product Passport - a structured digital record of a product's durability, repairability, recycled content, and supply chain, attached to the product itself and readable by consumers, repairers, recyclers, and customs. Product groups are phased in by delegated acts; batteries come first, with passports mandatory from February 2027 under the parallel Battery Regulation, with textiles, steel, electronics and others following.

A passport is only as trustworthy as the identities behind it: who issued this data, who updated it, and who is allowed to see which parts. That makes DPP compliance an identity problem as much as a data problem - and solving both at once is exactly what Soverio builds for.

Why Choose Soverio for ESPR & Digital Product Passports?

Digital Product Passports and the verified identities that make them trustworthy.

  • Compliant passports, end to end: generate, host, and serve DPPs that follow the emerging ESPR data and access requirements per product group.
  • Trustworthy by construction: every data entry tied to a verified economic-operator identity - manufacturers, importers, refurbishers.
  • Right data for the right audience: consumers, recyclers, and authorities each see what the regulation entitles them to, no more and no less.

Two ways to get there

  • Compliance with minimal investment

For manufacturers and importers that need compliant passports without building a platform: the DPP Platform issues and serves them as a service, with Soverio operating the platform and the required support.

  • Get the maximum from the investment

For businesses that want passports to do more than satisfy the regulation: combine the DPP Platform with FastEid to control who writes and reads each passport and turn it into a consumer-engagement and circularity channel.
